Three Things You Can Do to Help

  • 1. Ask your member of Congress to cosponsor the Wild Horse Protection Act of 2025

Help End Cruel Wild Horse Roundups, Act Now!

A new bipartisan bill, the Wild Horse and Burro Protection Act of 2025 (H.R. 4356), seeks to phase out the dangerous use of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft in federal roundups over just two years. It also mandates onboard cameras for transparency and directs the GAO to explore humane alternatives like fertility control. You can be part of the solution, ask your representatives to support H.R. 4356 for safer, more humane wild horse and burro management.

  • 2. Ask your Representative & Senators to cosponsor the Safe Act

Save America’s Forgotten Equines Act of 2025 was introduced in both the House (H.R. 1661) and Senate (S. 775)

The Save America’s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act of 2025 bans the inhumane practice of slaughtering horses and donkeys for human consumption. It also prohibits their sale, transport, or donation for such purposes. Violators would face fines. Support this vital legislation to honor and protect America’s horses from needless suffering.

TAKE ACTION FOR MUSTANGS AND BURROS

Visitors have the chance to Sponsor a Skydog or Donate to Skydog Sanctuary with both options going straight to the wild mustangs and burros in need. If one were to Sponsor a Skydog, they ensure that that horse or burro they’re sponsoring is taken care of by their funds, as well as receive time to visit and video updates. If you donate, we ensure that the funds go to horses and donkeys rescued from abuse, neglect, and awful situations.

With your help, we can continue our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and reunite as many mustangs as possible!
